Legal · Terms of service

The rules, in plain words.

These terms describe the deal between you and Lemika. We've kept them short, sentence-cased, and free of clauses you'd need a lawyer to parse.

Last updatedJune 1, 2026Version4.1Reading time7 min

The short version

Lemika writes titles, descriptions and keywords for your stock photos. Your originals stay on your device – we only see a small thumbnail. You buy credits (one credit = one image), we run your batches, and you get metadata and a CSV you can import into stock platforms. Don't abuse the service, pay for what you use, and we'll keep the lights on.

By signing up

You confirm that you're at least 16 years old, that you own or are licensed to use the photos you process, and that you agree to everything below. You also confirm that you're not on an EU, UK or US sanctions list and aren't subject to sanctions that would make this service unlawful to provide to you, and that you won't use Lemika where the law forbids it. If your employer is paying, you also confirm you can sign on their behalf.

Your account

One human, one account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password secret, and tell us right away if you think someone got in. You can have multiple accounts only if each one is for a separate human or organisation.

  • New accounts get a one-time bonus of free credits to try the service. We may close duplicate accounts created to harvest those free credits.
  • If you sign in with Google, the same rules apply to the connected email address.
  • We may close accounts that have been inactive for a long time. We'll email you first.

What Lemika does

An AI tool, not a guarantee

Lemika processes your photos locally on your device, uploads a small thumbnail of each one, and uses a third-party AI model (currently Google's Gemini) to generate a title, description and keywords. We may change or add AI providers over time to keep quality and availability up.

Because the output comes from an AI model, we can't guarantee that every keyword, title or description will be accurate, unique, or accepted by any particular stock platform. You're responsible for reviewing the metadata before you publish it.

Acceptable use

A very short list of don'ts

Don't use Lemika to:

  • Process images you don't have the rights to. CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, and anything illegal where you live mean an instant, permanent ban.
  • Generate keywords designed to mislead buyers on stock platforms (e.g. tagging an empty studio shot as "Times Square").
  • Try to extract, copy, or reverse-engineer the service, or build a competing product from our outputs.
  • Hammer the service past your rate limit, scrape the dashboard, or otherwise wear out our servers.

We notice this stuff. We will close your account and, where it matters, notify the relevant authorities.

Credits & billing

Pay for what you process

Lemika runs on credits – one credit covers one image. You can get credits in two ways:

  • Subscription plans that top you up with a set number of credits each month – Starter, Plus, Pro and Super. Current prices and credit allowances are shown on the Pricing page and in Account → Plan.
  • One-off credit packs when you need extra, with no recurring charge.

Payments, invoicing and taxes are handled by Paddle, who act as the merchant of record (the seller on the receipt). Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel from Account → Plan. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan and any remaining credits until the end of the period you've already paid for, and we don't pro-rate or refund the unused part of a period that's already started.

Refunds & cancellations

Cooling-off, and what's non-refundable

When you buy credits and start using the service, you agree that the service begins immediately – so, as EU law allows, credits you've already used are not refundable, because the service for them has already been delivered.

  • 14-day cooling-off. If you cancel within 14 days of a purchase and haven't used the credits from it, contact us and we'll arrange a refund of the unused portion through Paddle.
  • Subscriptions. Cancelling from Account → Plan stops the next renewal. You keep your plan and remaining credits until the end of the period already paid for; we don't pro-rate or refund a period that's already started.
  • Billing mistakes. We refund obvious billing errors – a double charge, a charge after cancellation, and the like.

To request a refund, email billing@lemika.app with your account email and the receipt. Paddle, as merchant of record, processes the refund back to your original payment method.

Generated content

It's yours

The keywords, titles and descriptions Lemika generates from your photos are yours. You can use them however you like, including on commercial stock platforms. No attribution required, and we don't keep back any licence.

We don't use your images or the metadata we generate to train any AI model.

Our intellectual property

Don't run off with the silverware

The Lemika name, logo, the visual design of this site, and the software that runs the service are ours. (The underlying AI model belongs to its provider, not us.) You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Lemika while you have an account in good standing. That licence ends when your account ends.

Liability & warranties

The boring necessary part

We work hard to keep Lemika running and useful – but the service is provided as-is. We can't guarantee that every keyword will be perfect for every platform, or that the service will be available every single second.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to Lemika is capped at the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or €100, whichever is higher. We're not liable for indirect losses – lost revenue, lost stock-platform rankings, that sort of thing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Changes & termination

How this ends, on either side

We can change these terms. Material changes – new restrictions, new fees, new sub-processors – get a 30-day email heads-up. Minor changes (a typo, a clarification) are just posted, with the date at the top of the page bumped.

You can close your account anytime, for any reason, from Account, and export your data first. Closing your account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription – if you're on a plan, cancel it from Account → Plan before you delete, otherwise Paddle keeps billing the renewal. Deleting your account part-way through a paid period doesn't trigger a refund for the remaining time. We can close yours if you stop paying, violate these terms, or if we discontinue Lemika. If we shut the service down, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export everything.
