Freepik (Magnific) Metadata Guidelines & Limits
Freepik (now Magnific) takes 5 to 50 singular, single-concept English keywords per asset – Freepik’s contributor UI calls these “tags” – and one unique title of up to 100 characters, with no description field. AI content is accepted with disclosure; editorial isn’t. The full guidelines are below. Lemika applies them for you: point it at a folder, and it writes a unique title and singular keywords straight into each file’s metadata, which Magnific reads on upload. (Freepik rebranded to Magnific in April 2026; the contributor program continues under the new name.)

How Freepik (Magnific) metadata actually works
- Keywords – singular, single-concept, English. Each keyword is one word for one concept – “home office” becomes “home” and “office”. Use the singular form, and skip filler like “image”, “background”, or prepositions.
- Keywords – between 5 and 50 per asset. Five is the minimum to submit; 50 is the cap. Around 20–25 strong, distinct keywords is the sweet spot – padding toward 50 with weak keywords raises rejection risk.
- Title – unique, English, up to 100 characters. Magnific only has a title – there’s no separate description field. It needs to be unique across your portfolio and describe the asset clearly.
- Metadata Magnific reads on upload. Magnific reads the title and keywords embedded in your file (or from a CSV) and uses them in place of its own auto-tagging. Lemika writes everything into the file, so the upload picks it up automatically.
- AI content is accepted with disclosure. Mark each AI asset on upload – Magnific adds the _ai_generated tag – and supply the prompt and the model you used.
- Editorial isn’t accepted – commercial only. Magnific is a commercial marketplace and doesn’t take editorial submissions. Identifiable people, private property, and third-party brands or logos either need releases or have to stay out of your submissions.

How Lemika generates Magnific-ready metadata
- Add a folder. Point Lemika at a folder of photos, vectors, or illustrations.
- It describes each file. The AI reads the actual image and writes a unique English title – a natural, descriptive line, not a string of keywords. No “image of”, no filler.
- It builds singular keywords. Each keyword is one word for one concept, in singular form – Magnific’s preferred shape. It even splits “home office” into “home” and “office”.
- It respects your settings. Set your target title length and keyword count once, and Lemika applies them to every file.
- Ready to upload. The metadata is already inside each file (IPTC/XMP), so Magnific picks it up on upload. Prefer a CSV? Export one in a click.

Up to 100 characters, and the title has to be unique across your portfolio. In Lemika you set the title length you want, and it generates every title within that range.
Two ways. Lemika writes the title and keywords straight into each file (IPTC/XMP), and Magnific reads them on upload – nothing to retype. Or use the CSV export: one spreadsheet mapping each filename to its metadata, uploaded in one go.
Yes, with disclosure. You mark each AI asset on upload (Magnific adds the _ai_generated tag) and provide the prompt and the model you used. Lemika handles the title and keywords; the AI fields you fill in when uploading.
