How Magnific (Freepik) metadata actually works
- Tags – singular, single-concept, English. Each tag is one word for one concept – “home office” becomes “home” and “office”. Use the singular form, and skip filler like “image”, “background”, or prepositions.
- Tags – between 5 and 50 per asset. Five is the minimum to submit; 50 is the cap. Around 20–25 strong, distinct tags is the sweet spot – padding toward 50 with weak tags raises rejection risk.
- Title – unique, English, up to 100 characters. Magnific only has a title – there’s no separate description field. It needs to be unique across your portfolio and describe the asset clearly.
- Metadata Magnific reads on upload. Magnific reads the title and tags embedded in your file (or from a CSV) and uses them in place of its own auto-tagging. Lemika writes everything into the file, so the upload picks it up automatically.
- AI content is accepted with disclosure. Mark each AI asset on upload – Magnific adds the _ai_generated tag – and supply the prompt and the model you used.
- Editorial isn’t accepted – commercial only. Magnific is a commercial marketplace and doesn’t take editorial submissions. Identifiable people, private property, and third-party brands or logos either need releases or have to stay out of your submissions.
